Marta Knight
Marta Knight's songs are full of an incredible intimacy and tenderness, like listening to your best friend playing music in her bedroom just for herself. Despite her relatively fresh career, the Spanish singer-songwriter already boasts an almost immaculate pool of outstanding songs that effortlessly master the balance between catchiness and remarkable emotionality. The debut album ‘Strange Times Forever’ (2022) arguably echoed the sentiments of half the planet when it was released, but it still offered the right kind of solace - while never sounding generic or bland. Memories of the melodic sensibility of Oasis and the bitter-sweet romanticism of the early Stone Roses surface when Marta Knight soars through her songs as though flying above freshly mown meadows. It's just a testament to her that she's also inspired by icons such as Nick Drake and Johnny Cash and was able to recruit Pau Riutort (FKA Twigs, Rosalía), one of the most unconventional producers of our time.
