Jose Puebla
Many big names of recent decades have shown that it can sometimes be advisable to build a certain myth around yourself without revealing too much – or even anything at all. José Puebla has chosen this approach for himself and his sound from the very beginning, which – according to him – has only one goal: to merge the sensual and visceral energy of flamenco with the sheer unlimited expressiveness of electronic music. And even though he has hardly released any material so far, Puebla caused a sensation last year when he presented his work “A Sun” in the church of San Antonio de los Alemanes. Dedicated to his mother, the music straddles the boundaries of eruptive breakbeats, electro-acoustic experiments, and flamenco as it has never been conceived or heard before. This is avant-garde music in the very best sense, which has to be experienced live to be understood. A German premiere.
