Ben Goldsmith
As Ben Goldsmith himself says, he's been working on making his artistic visions a reality ever since kindergarten. Making music and sharing it with other people was his thing right from the moment he began to think in words. He soon learnt to juggle them with consummate skill, and from that point on channelled his poetry into songs full of zest for life and intimacy. ‘I never had to drift around - I always knew that this was the one thing I wanted to do,’ says the singer-songwriter. He wrote his first song aged six, worked with Mike Crowley (Bob Dylan, Tom Petty) a few years later and was introduced to the Nashville music scene. A lot's happened since. Ben has expanded his songwriting, voice and guitar skills, and built up a network of mentors and sources of inspiration. His debut album ‘The World Between My Ears’ (2023) is thus a cross-section of indie pop, alt-country and songwriter folk, always focusing especially on melodies, always straight from the soul. Undoubtedly one of the new pioneers of authentic American songwriting.
