Ami Warning
She started out as a bassist in her father’s band, followed by engagements in her school’s big band, and finally, by the start of her solo career. Ami Warning grew up as a musician and draws the connecting lines between reggae, soul, and pop in her songs, which oscillate between sensuality and melancholy time and again. With her first two albums, “Part Of Me” (2014) and “Seasons” (2016), she showed a distinct sensitivity for melodic arrangements and reduced instrumentation that gives her sonorous, warm voice plenty of space. The production was successful at the time, not least because her father, experienced reggae musician Wally Warning, was on hand to help shape his daughter’s sound in a contemporary way. When the pandemic hit, Ami had to rethink things and quickly decided to take over a kiosk in Munich, whose basement was also suitable as a space for jam sessions. Unconventional and spontaneous, and with authentic inspiration from real life, the young artist has continued to write new song material ever since, which is now coming together in her album “Auszeit” and will be presented to us in September.
