Yosho
Joshua Iyagbaye didn’t really have any big plans for a career in music. His only real concerns were a job and studies as he managed his commitments and the harsh realities of life. It wasn’t until Yosho discovered a few beats in Sammy’s Instagram story that the initial idea sparked: to turn their passion into a career. The chemistry between the two was immediately right, and not just on a friendship level: The duo also quickly got into the same artistic vibe. They created their first tracks, such as “Andere Stadt” and “Eigentlich” (2024), leaving room for shared sources of inspiration from the past as well as for fresh ideas ranging from King Krule to OG Keemo and from XXXTentacion to Jean Dawson and Pearl Jam. Soon, they quit their jobs and moved to Vienna, where their EP “Lärm” (2024) was created in their living room in true DIY fashion. Straight like contemporary trap, edgy like alternative bands of the nineties, and eclectically screwed together: Yosho is an artist of a new calibre with as much talent as ambition.
