As dreamy and quietly hopeful as their songs sound, the genesis of the group’s name is just as romantic: Due to strict lockdown restrictions, Willow Parlo only met in the park and open fields during the pandemic to “parlare”, which is Italian for “talk” and serves as the root source of the group’s name, which means “I talk”. And indeed, on both their debut EP, “Willow Parlo” (2022), and their second studio album, “See U Whenever” (2023), the group’s stylistic thrust is very similar to a sunny day in the park. Dream pop meets indie vibes, and the unadulterated hope of a coming-of-age film merges with the realities of postmodern existence. Like a day in early September, when summer is still lingering and autumn can already be glimpsed on the horizon, Willow Parlo’s music oscillates between melancholy and security. And both can be felt and enjoyed live with us in September.
