While others merely claim to make intimate music, Wavvyboi makes good on that promise. The young musician from Liechtenstein uses his own diary entries as a source of inspiration and came to the conclusion a while ago that music is only truly personal when it also makes you vulnerable. He began playing the guitar at an early age and was inspired by his father’s record collection. Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Pink Floyd – it was the big names in rock history that fascinated him and paved the way for his current style. Wavvyboi draws on contemporary R’n’B, Midwest emo, new wave, and the pop-punk of the early 2000s to generate a mercilessly contemporary signature with his Fender. With a flowing mane, an unorthodox clothing style, and the halo effect of a modern poet, he takes to the country’s stages and confidently shows that he is more than just the next shooting star. His debut EP, “all die engel & dämonen sind wir selbst” (“we ourselves are all the angels and demons”) (2023), also makes it clear that Wavvyboi is a visionary of upcoming trends.
