TINY WOLVES
That the future belongs to children is a platitude that is all too often overused, yet it remains true - even and especially in the big wide world of music. However, what ex-Intro columnist, blogger and primary school teacher Kristof Beuthner has been putting on for the past few years with around 60 children and young people from the Hinrich Wolff School in Bergen, Lower Saxony, takes the perspective of a child-centred tomorrow away from any triviality. Together with Kristof on guitar and Tammo Potthast on percussion, the choir of young singers aged seven to thirteen intones classics of contemporary indie pop and gives them a fresh, often deeply moving spin. Whether it's Marteria or Deichkind, Betterov or AnnenMayKantereit and great deeds by Coldplay or the Giant Rooks: the sound of the Tiny Wolves combines the boisterous energy of young and old with successful reinterpretations of well-known and well-loved songs and minimalist yet dynamic arrangements. This unique selling point has brought the project to the most beautiful festival stages (Orange Blossom Special, Appletree Garden, Rocken am Brocken and many more) on a regular basis for several years now, leaving audiences somewhere between euphoria and tears of emotion. You have to experience it to believe it. This September for the first time in St. Pauli.
