With a dark, catchy post-punk sound and clever lyrics, the young Luzine is carving out new territory in the German-language pop landscape. Blessed with an elf-like voice and full of ideas, the singer–songwriter from the small town of Offenburg has invented her own genre and formulated it in songs such as “Prinzessin” and “CEO”: She calls it “dark bubblegum rap”. On her EP, “Dunkelblau” (2023), she demonstrates that her style is not just a flash in the pan. On the contrary: Inspired by icons as diverse as Lana Del Rey and Yung Hurn, Guns’n’Roses and RIN, Luzine creates music with a completely unique character that works just as well in the studio as it does on stage. Her Reeperbahn premiere this year promises to be a party for fans of modern pop music where you can dance, laugh, and even cry.
