KUSK & Óviti
Taking things into their own hands, creating music in line with their own rules and ideas: that's what Kolbrún Óskarsdóttir and Hrannar Máni Ólafsson shared from the start of their independent careers. While the former wrote his own songs and started producing music in his bedroom in Reykjavík, the latter made his first moves in the city's music scene and released his debut album ‘Ranka Við’ in 2021. The DIY approach is at the heart of both musicians' music, which sits somewhere between indie pop and spherical synth escapades. The sound design is flavoured with a unique Icelandic coolness that sounds both melancholy and yet somehow lightened. With songs like ‘Flugvélar’ or ‘Elsku Vinur’ they've already built up a loyal following on the ice-covered volcanic island - now they're coming to Germany for the first time and heading straight to us in Hamburg to present their dew-laden song material.
