Goldie Boutilier
Singer–songwriter, DJ, and model as well as unconventional artist and reformer of a pop style that came to world fame through greats such as Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette: Goldie Boutilier has been through all levels of the international music business during her turbulent career and has never lost her way. At 21, she signed with Interscope and released music as Kay. And what did she do when the major corset became too tight for her after a short time? She left the label, moved to Paris, and started modelling and DJing as Goldilox. Since then, the Canadian-born artist has consistently realised her own vision of what drives her artistically – whether in the field of alt-country or dance pop, whether soulful disco sounds of the 70s or soft indie pop, like on her latest single, ‘The Actress’ (2024). Cinematic and bittersweet in sound, Boutilier has emancipated herself from the pressure to conform. And with songs such as the melancholy ‘The Ways I Punish Myself’ and the tribute to the diva pop of the 50s and 60s ‘King Of Possibilities’, she pursues a style that is perfectly tailored to her. With her new album, ‘Goldie Montana’ (2025), in her luggage, she will show us just what that style sounds like in September.
