Guided Tour

Whether tried and tested or surprisingly new: Gallery Hopping takes art lovers to established areas and art spaces that have just opened their doors – always on the lookout for new artistic positions. There is the Feinkunst Krüger Gallery, which is presenting the fifth solo exhibition by artist Jessica Halm. Her work focuses on the interface between image, sculpture, and installation. Halm’s art explores the body and its movement through time and space, whereby she is particularly interested in the tension between these elements and their materiality. Tour guides Laura Harlaß and Hannah Bode will also take you to MEGA Contemporary, Melvin Wiebigke’s new space (he also runs the heliumcowboy gallery). The last stop is a little off the beaten path – it will take you to the new space simply called THE SPACE by nextMedia.Hamburg, an initiative of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft. It is curated by artists Sarice Brudet and Temorscha Zoltani and shows group exhibitions in its pastel-coloured rooms. Here, society and technology, nature and the self are explored. One room will be used by Feinkunst Krüger (we already know them) with works by Simon Hehemann. The tour is being organised by the Young Friends – a group of art enthusiasts who, as part of the Friends of the Kunsthalle e. V., have set themselves the task of exploring art in museums and beyond. With a fresh eye and artistic curiosity, they will not only visit the stations, but also contextualise the exhibited works and enter into a dialogue about what has been seen. The event will then return from Neustadt to the Reeperbahn – new impressions and all.
