Isolated from the outside world, Amélie Guillon and Elisa Artero began writing and recording their own songs in their small flat in Lyon during the lockdown four years ago. The resources were as limited as they were effective: bass and guitar, inexpensive drums, and a synthesiser. Nothing more was needed to create the immersive lo-fi atmosphere of “eat-girls” (2020). The CD quickly sold out, and when the fog lifted and cultural life could slowly resume, Maxence Mesnier joined the band as its third member. And with that, their style became clear: It’s a cool sound that lies somewhere between minimal synth, herbaceous electronics, and pop with a DIY attitude that’s perfect for a smoke-fuelled evening at the bar. The group are now hitting the pubs of Lyon with full force, sharing the stage with names such as Thalia Zedek, The Young Gods, and Billy Nomates before embarking on their own tour. This year, they will finally be on stage with us.
