DeVere
After a few sold-out concerts last year, it quickly became clear that DeVere’s career was off to a great start. Well-trained on instruments and bench presses and often rocking like a young Danzig, the quartet from London show how even the smallest of venues can become the setting for the greatest concert experiences. Comparisons with some of the much-praised legends of hard rock are not without reason: Singer Sam Cassidy has the stature of Glenn Danzig and the vocal repertoire of Brian Johnson, while riffs and drums would easily knock Rick Rubin off his feet. DeVere are still at the very beginning of their career, but in the last few months, they have unleashed two serious bangers on their fans with “Again” and “Surrender” and are enjoying the reputation of being the “loudest band in town” in London’s insanely diverse rock scene. Anyone who watches the four musicians’ videos will get a rough idea of what goes on at their concerts. If you want to see for yourself, you’ll have to come to Hamburg in September.
