When it comes to originality, nobody can fool Carpetman. Not even the biggest names in the USA currently sound fresher than the Ukrainian singer with a vocal variance at synthesis level. Yet the soul reformer from Ukraine has only been listed online for two years and is still barely known outside of his loyal Spotify following. Although he has tens of millions of views there, the rapper, singer, producer and style reformer, who is completely clad in classic Ukrainian weaves (‘carpets’), is still more of an insider tip in this country despite his ultra-modern sound signature. It is crystal clear that this will have to change very soon, given his brilliant tracks such as ‘Make It Lower’ or ‘Feel So Cold’ (2023). Already famous in his Ukrainian homeland as part of the Kalush Orchestra, Carpetman now harbours valid ambitions to win over Europe with his idiosyncratic r'n'b design. Too ambitious? Check out the latest single ‘Let It Burn’ and keep quiet. In order not to miss the hypetrain, we therefore recommend: see him live in September and shed tears of enthusiasm.
