Ada Oda
Ada Oda have found a hidden fork in the road at the busy crossroads of weirdly modulated 80s rock and Italian pop gems. Founded in 2020 by César Laloux and Victoria Barracato, the Brussels-based project – which has since grown into a quintet – was able to occupy one of the more out-of-the-way places in the ever-accelerating post-punk revival with their debut, “Un amore debole” (2022). And it was a hit. Cheeky vocals, an indie charm that couldn’t care less about current trends, and Italian lyrics with trenchant observations of everyday life characterise Ada Oda’s songwriting. Last year, they were able to impress an enthusiastic crowd at the Europavox Festival. They have also performed at the ESNS Festival and Les Nuits Botanique in their hometown and are finally coming back to Hamburg this year.
